Condition grades

Know exactly what you're buying.

Every container is sold by size and grade. Here's what each grade means.

Best

Single Trip

Near-new. Typically used for one overseas shipment before resale.

  • Minimal wear, best appearance
  • May still show minor scuffs, dents or handling marks
  • The top of the range
Better

Cargo Worthy CW

Used, structurally sound and CSC certified, suitable for shipping and transport.

  • Suitable for international shipping
  • Cosmetic wear, patches, dents, rust or floor wear may be present
Good

Wind & Watertight WWT

Used, weatherproof storage. Doors seal properly and it keeps out wind and water.

  • Great value for storage
  • Visible wear, dents, rust or patches are normal
  • Not guaranteed cargo certified unless stated

You buy by size, grade and condition, not a specific unit, colour or serial number (unless agreed in writing). After you order, the supplier assigns a container that meets your grade. We inspect and photograph it during loading, before it leaves the yard.

Delivery

Delivered on our own trucks.

Every container is delivered by Alberta Spur Hauling, our sister company, using its own trucks. We pick up your container in Calgary and bring it to your site anywhere we can safely reach in Alberta.

  • Quoted per trip by distance: your delivery cost is on your written quote.
  • Usual lead time of 2–3 business days from order, subject to availability.
  • Inspected and photographed at loading, before it leaves the yard.

Extra charges may apply for difficult access, long waits, re-delivery or after-hours scheduling. Prices exclude applicable taxes.

How to order

Four steps. No surprises.

  1. 01

    Request a quote

Tell us the size and grade, your delivery town or address, how you'll use it and when you need it.

  2. 02

    Get a written quote

We confirm sourcing and delivery, then send a written quote, valid for 7 calendar days.

  3. 03

    Deposit & agreement

Sign the Container Purchase & Delivery Agreement and pay a $500 deposit, which goes toward your price. Then we order your container.

  4. 04

    Delivery day

We inspect and photograph your container at loading and deliver it. The balance must be received before unloading.

A quote doesn't reserve a container. We secure it with the supplier once the agreement is signed and the deposit is paid.

A shipping container placed on a level, clear spot on a rural property

Prepare your site

Ready for delivery day.

A truck and trailer needs room to get in, turn and set your container down safely. Before delivery, check these four things:

Access

  • Driveway wide enough for a truck and trailer
  • Gate width and entry point checked
  • Room to turn around
  • Vehicles and obstacles moved

Overhead

  • No power lines in the delivery path
  • No low branches or structures
  • Height for truck, trailer and container to unload

Ground

  • Placement area reasonably level and clear
  • Firm ground with no soft spots, recent digging or buried hazards
  • Wet or muddy ground can delay delivery

On the day

  • Be reachable by phone
  • Someone on site if needed
  • Share placement instructions
  • Site photos help us plan

Permits and bylaws are your responsibility. Check with your municipality, county or landlord about any permits, bylaws or site restrictions before you order. Final placement depends on safe access and equipment limits. If your chosen spot can't be reached safely, we'll place the container in the safest accessible location, or reschedule.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Can't find what you need? Call 587-330-0925 or email sales@ironspurcontainers.com.

Can I choose a specific container?

Containers are sold by size, grade and condition rather than a specific unit, colour or serial number, unless agreed in writing. After you order, the supplier assigns a container that meets your grade, and we inspect and photograph it during loading before it leaves the yard.

Do you keep containers in stock?

We source to order rather than keeping a public inventory. That lets us get the size and grade you need from our supplier's available supply, usually within 2–3 business days, subject to availability.

Which grade should I buy?

For dry storage on a yard, farm or job site, Wind & Watertight is usually the best value. Pick Cargo Worthy if you need a CSC-certified container that can be used for shipping, and Single Trip if appearance matters most.

Will a used container have dents or rust?

Yes. Used containers show wear consistent with their age and grade, such as dents, surface rust, patches, scratches, paint variation and floor wear. That's normal and isn't a defect if it fits the quoted grade.

Is the colour guaranteed?

No, colour isn't guaranteed unless we confirm it in writing.

How much does a container cost?

Pricing depends on the size, grade and current supplier availability, so we confirm it on a written quote. Send us a quick request and we'll get back to you.

How is delivery priced?

Delivery is quoted per trip based on distance. We pick up your container in Calgary, and your written quote shows the exact delivery cost for your location.

Does a quote hold a container for me?

No. Quotes are valid for 7 calendar days, subject to supplier availability. Your container is secured once you sign the agreement and pay the $500 deposit.

When do I pay the balance?

The remaining balance must be received and verified before your container is unloaded.

Do I need a permit?

It depends on your municipality and property. You're responsible for any local permits, bylaws or site restrictions, so check before you order.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Changes after confirmation may affect price or scheduling. The deposit may be non-refundable once we've committed to the supplier, and extra charges may apply if a delivery is rescheduled or cancelled after dispatch. The details are in your signed agreement.

Do you modify containers?

We sell standard, unmodified shipping containers.

Are taxes included?

No. All prices exclude applicable taxes.
